Oriente Serrano
Oriundo
Oriundo is a heavy music duo formed in 2022 by Walo Crespo and Iván Krisman. These two seasoned musicians were part of several legendary bands from the local scene that also gained significant international attention, such as Motosierra, La Hermana Menor, latejapride, Hotel Paradise, and Eté y los Problems.
On September 21, 2024, the band released their debut album, Oriente Serrano, recorded by Nicolás Taparauskas and Juan Manuel Puñales, and mixed by the latter. The album is available on all digital platforms.
Their debut reflects an interest in exploring an ominous and strident sound, with open and experimental song formats. After being performed live in several venues across the capital and the countryside, the album was nominated for "Best Album of the Year" at the El Bloque Awards 2024.
The collection of songs that make up Oriente Serrano follow a thematic thread of rural and coastal Uruguayan landscapes, referencing fieldwork and the harshness of life in the open. The lyrics describe fictional historical events, decontextualized mysticism, and local paranormal activity—a psychedelic meditation from the hills, gazing out to sea. Available in cassette!
